Broken Bow Lake
The stunning Broken Bow Lake is in one of the state’s most beautiful settings. The Cabins at Broken Bow Lake are all conveniently located within minutes of the lake. Encompassing over 14,000 acres and stretching 22 miles long, the Broken Bow lake’s crystal blue waters provide a variety of water recreation including water skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet-skiing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and boating. You can rent a boat from the marina or bring your own to take advantage of one of Oklahoma’s best year-round fishing spots or stunning views. Fish species include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white (sand) bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish and various species of sunfish.
Beavers Bend State Park
Beavers Bend State Park sits in the mountainous region of southeast Oklahoma along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River. Guests coming to the area will find adventure, beautiful scenery and plenty of activities inside the state park. From fly fishing, swimming, guided horseback riding, paddle boating to miniature golf, hayrides, hiking, and golfing, Beavers Bend State Park is your destination for a fun filled vacation!
The Forest Heritage Center Museum, which is located inside the Beavers Bend State Park, is a wonderful place to visit. The museum houses historical documents, antique forestry tools, wood art, homestead memorabilia, and a research library filled with books, periodicals, and other materials pertaining to forestry. Close by you will find the Beavers Bend Nature Center, where you can see a small variety of forest animals and other species.

Once you’ve completed your hiking excursions head to the Beavers Bend Land & Water Park for some paddle boating, canoeing, kayaking, or some swimming on the swim beach. Not too far from there is the Beavers Bend Depot and Stables where the family can enjoy a train ride or guided horseback ride through the forest. There is also a small recreational park for the kids in the same vicinity!
Lower Mountain Fork River
If you’re a more adventurous bunch, head to the Lower Mountain Fork River for some white water canoeing or kayaking. This river is raved to have the best white water streams in Oklahoma. It features plenty of rapids, small waterfalls and rock gardens perfect for rafting, canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts, whether you seek a challenging thrill ride or a more leisurely float. The Lower Mountain Fork River also offers year-round trout fishing throughout a 12-mile portion of lower river, as well as its tributaries from the Broken Bow dam downstream to US-70 bridge.
